Nanee's Satin Sheets Romance Review of Conviction of the Heart by Alana Lorens

Book description

Family law attorney Suzanne Taylor understands her clients' problems--her own husband left her with two babies to raise alone. Now that they're teenagers, her life is full. The last thing she wants is the romantic attentions of a police lieutenant, no matter how good-looking. Lt. Nick Sansone is juggling the demands of a new promotion and doesn't need complications either. But when he sends a councilman's battered wife to Suzanne for help, he realizes he wants to connect with the lovely, prickly lawyer on more than a professional level. They are soon confronted with a different battle when the abused woman's husband threatens retribution. The powerful, well-connected councilman can damage both their careers--not to mention hurt those they love. Can they bend enough to admit they need each other in a time of crisis? Or will a husband's revenge take them down before they ever get a chance?

Nanee's Review -

Suzanne a tougher than nails family law attorney with brass balls ( as she's been told many times) knows her latest case for Maggie Morgan is a life or death fight against councilman Morgan; a power hungry controlling bastard who abuses his wife and kids. Suzanne takes all her cases seriously and knows going against a politician isn't going to be a walk in the park but when threats are made against the people she loves the gloves come off and war is declared.  Nick a sexy as hell lieutenant of the police force sent Maggie Morgan to Suzanne knowing  she's the best but unknowingly put her life and the lives around her in danger. Wanting to protect her because that's his job he also wants her close for more personal reasons. When  their careers and life come crashing down around them, they both reach out for the other for moral and physical support.

I enjoyed this story alot. The characters are so well written, you feel like your in the story rooting for Suzanne for all she does for her clients and also that she's a independent single mother who loves her kids more than life. Nick a sexy as hell  cop who is a third generation police officer who takes his job seriously and knows right from wrong never allows people ( no matter who they are ) affect his decisions he makes on the job. Nick doesn't take kindly to threats in his department  for the choices he makes. As the two come together you cant help but root for their relationship to work and can't help but fall in love with  the trust the put into each other. Love Hope and Riviera Suzanne's kids and how much they fall for Nick.  I would highly recommend this book....
